These terms apply to Rebuttal: AI Debate Chat on iPhone and Android and to this website. By installing or using Rebuttal you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Rebuttal is
Rebuttal is a forecasting practice and reasoning tool. You pick a real-world event, state your own probability estimate, debate it with an AI opponent, lock a position, and later see how accurate you were.
Rebuttal is read-only. It does not execute trades, place bets, accept deposits, hold funds or pay out anything. It is not a broker, an exchange or a gambling service, and a locked position in the app is a record of your estimate, not a financial position.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for making sure that using the app is lawful where you live.
No financial advice
Nothing in Rebuttal is financial, investment, legal or betting advice. Probabilities, charts, AI messages and statistics are provided for practice and information only. Any decision you make outside the app, including on any prediction market, is yours alone.
Market data
Market data comes from third-party sources and is shown as received. It may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable. Matching the same event across venues is automated and can miss a match or fail to find one; the consensus figure is our own simple average of the venues that were matched. Resolutions shown in the app follow the source markets.
AI-generated content
Replies from the AI opponent and the Weekly Digest note are generated automatically from numeric data. They can be wrong, incomplete or unconvincing. They are arguments for you to weigh, not statements of fact about what will happen.
Your content and conduct
You are responsible for what you type or attach in a debate. Your replies are sent to an AI model to generate a response, as described in the Privacy Policy. Don't submit anything unlawful, anything that infringes someone else's rights, or personal information about other people.
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer the app or interfere with its services;
- access the service through automated means, scrape it or overload it;
- use the app to mislead others about market data or to promote betting;
- resell or redistribute the service.
Your data
Your debates, watchlist, settings and statistics are stored on your device. If you delete them, uninstall the app or lose the device, we can't restore them. Details are in the Privacy Policy for iOS and the Privacy Policy for Android.
Rebuttal Pro on iOS
On iPhone, some features are part of Rebuttal Pro, an optional auto-renewing subscription offered monthly or yearly. The price and period are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel it in your Apple account settings. Deleting the app or your data does not cancel it.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.
- Restore Purchases is available on the paywall and in Settings.
The limits of the free tier are shown in the app. We may change what is included in each tier; changes won't shorten a period you have already paid for.
Rebuttal for Android currently has no paid features.
Intellectual property
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes. The app, its design, text and illustrations belong to Rebuttal. Names of markets, venues and other third parties belong to their owners; Rebuttal is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Kalshi or Polymarket.
App stores
If you got the app from the App Store or Google Play, the store's own terms also apply. These terms are between you and Rebuttal, not Apple or Google. Neither store is responsible for the app or its content, or obliged to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you as far as they relate to your use of the iOS app.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue the app or any part of it. Data sources and AI models are outside our control and may change or stop being available.
Disclaimers
Rebuttal is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Rebuttal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from decisions you make based on the app, including trading or betting decisions made elsewhere. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Rebuttal in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Ending use
You can stop using Rebuttal at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
