This policy covers Rebuttal: AI Debate Chat for Android and this website. Rebuttal has no accounts. Your debates stay on your device, and the only things that leave it are the requests needed to load market data and to generate a reply.
- No sign-up. No email, name or phone number is required to use the app.
- Debates, estimates, watchlist, settings and statistics are stored on your device.
- To write a counter-argument, the app sends the event's market numbers, your estimate and the reply you typed to an AI model.
- No advertising. We don't sell personal information.
- The Android app has no purchases and no subscriptions.
Information kept on your device
The app stores the following locally so it can work:
- your debate threads — AI messages, your replies, every estimate change and each locked position;
- your watchlist and dismissed or pending re-spar alerts;
- your settings: probability format, alert sensitivity, spar tone, reminder preferences;
- your daily streak and Sparring Impact statistics;
- cached market data, so the app can open offline.
Rebuttal has no accounts, so none of this is linked to a user profile.
Information that leaves your device
Market data
The app loads events, prices and price history from public market data sources (Kalshi and Polymarket). These requests contain event identifiers, filters and any search text you enter. They don't contain your debates.
AI replies
When you start or continue a debate, the following is sent to OpenRouter, which passes it to a third-party large language model: the event title and category, the market figures for that event (consensus, 24-hour and 7-day movement, venue spread, volume change), your current estimate, the round number, your tone setting, a short summary of the previous AI message, and the text of your reply, if you wrote one.
Your replies are free text. Please don't put personal or sensitive information in them.
Weekly Digest
To write the weekly coaching note, the app sends aggregated figures only: number of debates, average sparring effect, calibration score and its change, a per-category breakdown, and a short description of your best and worst call.
Technical data
As with any internet service, we and the providers above receive your IP address and basic request details such as time, app version and device type. Limited technical logs may be kept for security and troubleshooting. We don't use them to build a profile of you.
Purchases
Rebuttal for Android currently has no in-app purchases and no subscriptions, so no payment information is involved.
Permissions
- Notifications (optional). Used for re-spar updates on your open positions and for the evening streak reminder. On Android 13 and later the app asks before sending notifications. You can turn them off at any time in system settings.
- Camera and photos (optional). If you choose to attach a photo to a reply, the app asks for access at that moment. The photo is kept with the thread on your device. The app works fully without it.
Sharing
When you share a debate or your Sparring Impact, the app creates a card on your device and hands it to the system share sheet. It goes only where you send it.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads.
- We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- We don't execute trades or handle money. Rebuttal is read-only.
Third parties
- Google Play — distributes the app and shows the in-app review prompt.
- Kalshi and Polymarket — sources of public market data. Rebuttal is not affiliated with either.
- OpenRouter and the model provider it routes to — generate AI replies and the Weekly Digest note.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — keep the app's services and this website running.
Each of them handles data under its own privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting your data
Data on your device stays there until you remove it. You can delete a single debate from the thread or the Debates list, erase everything in Settings → Delete account, or uninstall the app.
Delete account permanently removes all debate conversations, your watchlist, app settings and Sparring Impact statistics. It can't be undone.
If device backup is on in your Google account, app data may be included in your device backup. That backup is controlled by you through your Google account settings.
Security
All requests the app makes use encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Age
Rebuttal is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to its processing. Most of your information is on your device and under your direct control. For anything else, including messages you sent through the contact form, write to us and we'll respond within the time the law requires.
Where the law asks for a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you requested and for our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and working. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
